Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, Scotland

You can go wild camping in Scotland but ensure you adhere to the rules for the Loch Lomond national park.

Nestled deep within the forest, Schwarzwald-Camp is a must visit for all fans of nature adventures. You can hire out tipis, tree tents or bring your own, but you'll be sure to have a wild adventure. 

Lake District National Park, England

Famous for its stunning lakes, rugged mountains, and charming villages. There are many campsites that cater to families, offering a range of activities from hiking to boat trips.

Recommended by the National Trust Great Langdale Campsite is a paradise for all kind of adventures. You can hike various trails or take on some higher summits. 

Provence, France

Known for its lavender fields, vineyards, and picturesque villages. Family-friendly campsites are plentiful, and the region offers various activities such as cycling, hiking, and visiting historic sites.

For a wild but comfortable experience, head over to the Chasteuil Provence campsite which sits right on the bank of the Verdon river. They have an array of ecolodges as well as camping site to camp with your own tents. 

Pyrenees National Park, France/Spain

A mountain range that forms a natural border between France and Spain. The park offers numerous campsites and outdoor activities like hiking, wildlife spotting, and exploring caves.

With breathtaking views of the Pyrenées and activities galore, Camping le Rioumajou is a great destination for parents and kids. There are facilities such as a pool and play area, but the surroudings offer a huge number of adventures. 

Lake Geneva, Switzerland/France

Cinque Terre, Italy

Famous for its rolling hills, vineyards, and historic towns. There are numerous campsites suitable for families, providing a base to explore the region’s rich history, cuisine, and scenic landscapes.

If you want an authentic experience, head over to Camping Smeraldo in Moneglia. You can camp right on the sea front or rent out one of the wooden bungalows. Be mindful though that you need a car to access it or it is a wild walk to the place.
